Commanders Welcome
Welcome to the 54th North Carolina Field Hospital web site. We are dedicated to the preservation of the American Civil War Medical Units and Hospitals and their untiring efforts and contributions to the medical community. The bravery and valor that these men and women showed on and off the field of battle is seldom read about or taught about in schools. From the Surgeons at the General Hospitals and Field Hospitals, to the Privates carrying litters of wounded, to the nurses who tended the wounded and dieing, these behind the scene heroes, will live on in the portrayals we give.
We welcome anyone willing to research and portray any period correct position or aspect of the American Civil War, either Southern or Northern, or both. Our group portrays both sides, members having ancestors who fought on both sides. Rank and positions are awarded by group bylaws. All families are welcome. Anyone interested in history, family enjoyment, camping, talking with the public, please feel free to contact any of the following members:
